• White Composite Fillings

  • White composite fillings are utilized to fill small or mid sized cavities. Their color is made to match the appearance of your teeth, allowing a more natural look.

    What are composites?

Composites are fillings colored to match the look of your teeth. Unlike amalgam fillings, which are created from various types of metals and can have a silverish look. Composites are made from plastic and ceramic materials to resemble a tooth and blend in better than amalgam fillings.

Even after 31 years in the dental industry, Dental Group at Polaris is diligent about keeping up with the latest in dental technology to give you the finest composite fillings in the greater Lewis Center area.

How do I care of my composites?

Good oral hygiene is always essential to getting optimal results from dental treatments. Brush and floss regularly to keep your mouth and composites free from decay.

    Diet

Maintaining a good diet aids proper dental health. Avoid foods that can be hard or cause discoloration to your teeth, specifically around your composites. Hydration is key for dental health. If you eat foods that are harmful to your enamel, drink plenty of water to help rinse away any residue. Dehydration decreases the saliva in your mouth and makes it more difficult for bacteria to be washed away naturally.

    Oral Hygiene

The American Dental Association recommends brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least two times a day. Flossing daily is also suggested to rid any plaque or harmful bacteria from your teeth. We highly recommend using brands that have the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance for optimum results.

    Routine dental visits

Our team will analyze your composites to ensure they are healthy and no decay is forming around them. To eliminate decay and prevent gum disease, routine checkups and cleanings are essential.

    Are composites right for me?

Composites are a subtle alternative to amalgam and gold fillings. You can replace your old amalgam fillings with composites, especially if there are signs of deterioration.

Placing composites may take more time than amalgam fillings, but can still be done in a single visit. We will happily review your filling options when you come in your initial appointment.

Our team at Dental Group at Polaris will replace your fillings with precision and care. We’ve helped many clients in the Lewis Center, Columbus, Powell, Westerville, Galena, and other nearby communities achieve stronger, healthier, and better looking composites.
